The initial project of the building, for single family dwelling, dates from 1955.
The building corresponds to a project of a three-floor semi-detached house.
The architectural characterization expresses a modern dated language, which attributes to it a patrimonial quality, more and more recognized and that is important to preserve.
The housing is organized in three floors, in a traditional way, with daytime zones on the groundfloor and basement and night areas on the first floor.
From a constructive point of view, it presents a traditional system with perpendicular bearing walls, concrete slabs and wooden frame cover.
The organization of the lot comprises permeable and waterproof areas that give access to the garage and laundry.
The guiding premise of the intervention was the respect for the original architectural characterization.
The intervention is limited to externally expressing what is fundamental in the interior / exterior relation, when the building is adapted to a new way of dwelling.
It should be mentioned: the intervention corresponding to a new connection of the kitchen to the exterior; under this area, a technical zone is constituted; the transformation of the living room, on the east façade, which allows direct access to the exterior; the replacement of the existing wooden frames with single glazing, by lacquered aluminum frames, which is also indispensable, since an exterior coating with ETICS system is introduced which significantly improves the termical behaviour of the building.
The interior organization is maintained, introducing only a toilet, on the groundfloor, next to the entrance, another toilet on the basement and the existing bathroom on the first floor was divided in two.
Outside, the garage was transformed into a painting atelier, with two levels. The most important aspects considered in this space were the light, the hight and the storage of materials and paintings.
